Sensory tips
Small comfort tools can keep a loud day usable.
Parks are bright, busy, and full of sound. You do not have to tough every spike. Prefer what makes the day gentler: quieter corners, ear protection when you want it, and short resets before irritation turns into a hard stop.
- Pack a quiet kit: soft ear protection, water, a cool cloth, and a snack.
- Step indoors for a few minutes of quieter air when noise or heat spikes.
- Look at the sky or a single fixed point for thirty seconds when the scene feels too busy.
- Agree on a hand signal that means pause now, no debate required.
- Treat sunglasses, hats, and soft layers as comfort gear, not extras.
This is ordinary comfort coaching, not medical or mental-health treatment. Use what helps you feel steadier.
Comfort is personal. Keep the tools that work and leave the rest at home.
